What You'll Be Doing

You’ll build and maintain strong customer relationships, provide training and technical support, and help elevate operational performance through advanced John Deere Precision Technology solutions. This role offers variety — you’ll spend time in the field, in the service shop, and occasionally in the office, helping customers succeed with innovative technology.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers to support Precision Golf technology adoption.
- Make field calls to troubleshoot, repair, and optimize precision systems.
- Perform software updates and ensure systems are current and functioning properly.
- Train customers and internal teams on new Precision Golf equipment and software.
- Plan and host customer clinics, demonstrations, and training sessions on new John Deere systems.
- Coordinate and support trade shows, customer events, and group sales presentations.
- Manage multiple ongoing projects while addressing daily operational needs.
- Complete all work in a safe, professional, and timely manner.
- Collaborate with sales, service, and parts departments to deliver integrated customer solutions.
- Balance sales, service, and support activities to strengthen customer satisfaction and drive growth.
What's Required
Skills / Experience
- 3 years of technical experience operating and supporting precision technology such as GIS, VRT, GPS, Spatial Analysis, and Telematics
- Experience with Golf equipment and John Deere GreenStar systems
- Familiarity with irrigation systems, including Sub-Drip Irrigation (SDI), irrigation scheduling, and consulting
- Knowledge of fertility scheduling, agronomic practices, and consulting
- Strong understanding of data collection, analysis, and precision technology integration
- Demonstrated skills in managing risk, change, negotiation, and conflict resolution
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a focus on customer service and relationship building
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Self-motivated and adaptable, able to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must own and maintain a personal set of tools
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record and be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to after-hours service needs
- 1 year of experience as a service technician
- 3 years of technical experience related to precision technology such as GIS, VRT, GPS, Spatial Analysis, and Telematics
- Certified Crop Advisor accreditation
- Fluent in Spanish (helpful but not required)
Education
- High School or equivalent
- Some college or better in Business Administration or related field.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Work indoors, outdoors in varying weather, and occasionally in confined spaces.
- Use hands for tools, equipment, computer, and phone.
- Must be able to talk, hear, and communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
- Close vision required for reading, computer work, and documents.
- Requires manual dexterity for handling tools, equipment, and computer systems.
- Ability to travel to company locations or job sites as needed.
