Body Shop Manager – Dealership
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Body Shop Manager to lead dealership body shop operations. This role is responsible for driving sales and profitability, managing staff performance, maintaining repair quality and safety standards, and building strong relationships with insurance partners and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily body shop operations, staffing, scheduling, and workflow
- Drive sales growth and profitability while controlling expenses
- Hire, train, coach, and evaluate body shop employees
- Develop strong relationships with insurance adjusters and customers
- Write, review, and approve accurate repair estimates in accordance with OEM and insurance guidelines
- Ensure estimates support proper repair planning, timely approvals, and on-schedule vehicle completion
- Ensure timely repairs and high-quality workmanship
- Monitor productivity, payroll, repair orders, and accounts receivable
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations
- Oversee equipment, facility maintenance, and cleanliness
Qualifications
- 2–10 years of body shop or automotive management experience preferred
- Dealership experience strongly preferred
- Strong leadership, customer service, and organizational skills
- Ability to write and interpret repair estimates, manage budgets, and analyze productivity reports
