Location: New York City, NY
Work Model: Hybrid, NYC office
Compensation: Up to $250,000 base salary plus equity
Authorization: No sponsorship available (if you need sponsorship post OPT, this cannot be provided)
Job Description
We’re partnering with a fast-growing Series B startup building the infrastructure layer that transforms complex APIs into live, interactive product experiences.
Instead of static documentation or one-off demos, their platform enables AI and API-first companies to generate dynamic, production-grade demo environments directly from their systems.
As an AI Software Engineer, you will help design and scale backend systems powering interactive AI-driven workflows. This is a product-focused, systems-heavy role centered on building scalable infrastructure, not model research or training.
You will operate at the intersection of AI systems, platform engineering, and developer tooling to abstract complex APIs into reliable, real-time experiences used by customers globally.
What You’ll Do
• Build and scale backend systems supporting AI workflows
• Integrate and abstract AI and LLM APIs into configurable environments
• Design systems for performance, reliability, and scalability
• Partner with product and frontend teams to ship end-to-end features
• Contribute to core platform architecture as the company grows
Requirements
- Built AI features for design tools (e.g. auto-layout, design-to-code, style transfer)
- Created developer copilots (e.g. natural language to UI, code completion, intelligent suggestions)
- Worked with vector graphics, color palettes, or typography AI
- Integrated AI into design systems, no-code tools, or IDEs
- Used GPT-4, Claude 3 , and open-source models in production
- Built advanced prompt-engineered workflows that balance creativity and accuracy
- Worked with ASTs, design tokens, or component trees
- Made AI outputs context-aware (e.g. understanding canvas or code state)
Nice to Have
• Experience building developer tools or platform products
• Exposure to workflow orchestration or real-time systems
• Previous startup experience
Why Join
• Series B company with strong traction and product-market fit
• Core platform role with real architectural influence
• High ownership and direct product impact
• Build infrastructure that makes AI products tangible and interactive
• Competitive compensation up to $220,000 base plus equity
• NYC team with meaningful in-person collaboration
• Opportunity to help define a new category at the intersection of AI and product infrastructure
Salary : $250,000
