There is a shop in almost every city in America that has been there for twenty or thirty years. The owner knows every regular by name. The technicians have worked there for a decade. The walls are covered in photos of cars they have brought back to life and customers they have taken care of when no one else would. The shop has a four-point-nine on Google and a waiting list on Tuesdays. And almost no one outside of a three-mile radius has ever heard of them.

That is the problem Storyline Marketing was built to solve.

We are a video-first digital marketing agency that specializes in authentic brand content for independent automotive repair shops across the United States. We fly in. We film on-site. We meet the owner, the service advisor, the lead tech, and the customers who have been coming for fifteen years. And then we tell the story that has been sitting inside that shop waiting to be told — the one that makes the right person in the right neighborhood stop scrolling, watch the whole thing, and pick up the phone.

We do not build generic content. We do not outsource the work overseas. We do not use templates, stock footage, or projected backgrounds. Every client we take on gets a production that is specific to their shop, their staff, their city, and their customer. That is the standard. That has always been the standard. And it is why, after years of doing this work across fourteen states and counting, the results speak for themselves.

What we actually do — and why it works

The automotive repair industry has a trust problem. Consumers walk into shops already on guard, already assuming they might be overcharged or oversold, already comparing the shop with four-point-eight stars to the one with two-point-two stars without really knowing the difference between them. The shop that has been doing honest work for thirty years is losing customers to a competitor with a bigger sign and a flashier website — not because they are worse, but because they are invisible.

Our job is to make the invisible visible.

When we film at a shop, we are not making a commercial in the traditional sense. We are building what we call a trust credit score — a body of authentic, transparent, emotionally resonant content that accumulates over time and makes the shop the obvious choice in their market. We capture technicians explaining repairs in plain language. We film service advisors being honest about what a car actually needs versus what can wait. We get testimonials from real customers in their own words, unscripted, unpolished, and completely believable. We document the culture of the shop — the pride, the craft, the inside jokes, the family feel — and we put it in front of the people in that community who need to see it.

Then we run it. We manage paid advertising across Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, targeting the specific zip codes, neighborhoods, and demographics that matter for each client. We build lookalike audiences from their existing customer base. We rotate content monthly, track everything from phone calls to messages to watch-through rates, and optimize constantly. We do not hand a client a video and disappear. We stay in it.

"We know how to make ads and we can put money behind it and it will do really well. We will have the structure. We will have the standard. This is where people will come to have the best outcome when it comes to telling their story and building a presence that makes the money — paid and organic." — Shawn Severs, Founder

The results — by the numbers

One of our longest-running clients, Anthony's AutoWorks, came to us tracking twenty-six inbound calls in January of their first year. By the following January, that number had more than doubled to fifty-three tracked calls in a single month. By February of that year, their content had accumulated over five hundred fifteen thousand video views. Today they are consistently averaging between eighty thousand and one hundred thousand dollars in monthly revenue — and their Google review count has more than tripled since we started. That is not the exception. That is the pattern we build toward with every client.

Accurate Auto, a multi-location operation in the Pacific Northwest with five shops and revenue in the tens of millions, came to us after a successful October production that immediately moved business across their other locations. Their owner gave our team near-complete creative latitude — because he had seen what authentic, community-grounded content could do versus the generic templated material that agencies typically produce for shops his size. Fearless Motorsports saw a one hundred thousand dollar revenue increase since beginning with us in 2025. The shops we serve are not just running better ads. They are becoming the dominant brand in their local market.

How we are different

The automotive marketing industry is crowded. There are agencies that cold-call leads from landing pages using overseas reps. There are services that produce the same generic hiring ad for every shop in their roster. There are template providers charging shops ten thousand dollars for content that looks nothing like the shop and everything like a stock photo. We have seen it. Our clients have tried it. The results speak for themselves — and not in a good way.

What we do requires us to show up. There is no version of our service where we stay behind a screen and build something from a brief. The best-performing content we have ever produced features our founder walking into a client's shop — real energy, real conversation, real moment. That is not something you can replicate remotely. It is not something you can automate. It is the core reason why Storyline content outperforms everything else these shops have tried.

Beyond the production itself, we have built a content ecosystem designed to work at scale. We produce upwards of twenty-four to thirty or more pieces of content every month across our active client base. We have adopted Meta Glasses as a content engine that allows shop owners and their staff to self-generate authentic footage between our production visits — giving clients a continuous stream of real, in-the-moment content that keeps their presence warm and local even when our team is not on-site. A single post filmed this way generated nearly twenty-five organic comments — the kind of engagement you cannot buy.

We think in layers. Paid and organic working together. Short-form stopping power and long-form trust-building. Content that converts now and content that builds the brand for the next three years. That is the architecture we bring to every client relationship.

Who we are

Storyline Marketing is a remote-first team of creators, editors, strategists, and operators spread across multiple states, built around a shared obsession with doing this work well.

Our founder and CEO, Shawn Severs, started in media buying and found his way to on-site video production for local businesses by following what was actually working — which was showing up, filming real things, and letting the story speak for itself. He has been in shops from California to Montana to Michigan to Florida. He has filmed at high-profile national events and then flown straight back to film a general maintenance shop in the Midwest, because he believes that the stories inside those shops are just as worth telling. His voice, his presence, and his instinct for what makes local content land are at the core of everything Storyline produces.

Where we are going

The 2026 theme for Storyline Marketing is straightforward: higher revenue, greater accountability, stronger leadership, and a team that can operate without a single point of failure. We are on track for a million-dollar revenue year. We are closing multi-location clients in Montana, Colorado, and Michigan. We are in conversation with an investor managing a portfolio of fourteen shops with a collective annual revenue exceeding two hundred million dollars. We are building a subscription education model that will allow shop owners to learn the Storyline system and run it independently — a scalable second revenue stream built on the authority we have earned by doing this work at the highest level, year after year.

The automotive industry is also in a moment that works directly in our clients' favor. With tariffs on imported vehicles making new cars increasingly expensive, consumers are holding onto their current vehicles longer and investing more in maintenance and repair. T

What we are looking for in the people who join us

We are growing. That means we need people who want to grow too — not just in skill, but in ownership, in voice, in the ability to make a decision and stand behind it.

If you edit video, we are looking for editors who understand that the technical execution of a cut is only half the job. The other half is understanding what the moment is trying to do, what the person watching it needs to feel, and what will make them stop, watch, and trust. We work with real businesses and real people. The content we produce has direct consequences for whether a shop owner can make payroll, grow their team, or become the most recognized brand in their city. That weight should mean something to you.

If you work in operations or systems, we are looking for people who think architecturally — who can look at a broken workflow and see not just what is wrong but what the structure should be, and then build it without being asked twice.

If you work in client success or project management, we are looking for the person who is genuinely curious about what a client needs, who can hold a conversation with a shop owner in Texas the same way they would with a multi-location operator in the Pacific Northwest, and who closes the gap between what a client expects and what they actually need — before anyone has to ask.
