About the Role
We're looking for a reliable, hands-on person to help keep our building clean, functional, and well-maintained inside and out. The building is home to a working sign shop, a coworking space, and a coffee shop, so this role covers a mix of everyday janitorial upkeep, light building maintenance, and outdoor groundskeeping depending on the season.
What You'll Do
Janitorial / Interior
- Clean and restock restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the building
- Empty trash and recycling; manage waste/recycling pickup schedule
- Clean glass, doors, and high-touch surfaces
- Keep shared coworking and lobby areas presentable for members and clients
Groundskeeping / Exterior
- Sweep and maintain sidewalks, entryways, and parking areas
- Coordinate with snow removal and lawn care vendors
- Basic seasonal exterior upkeep (leaf removal, minor landscaping touch-ups)
Light Maintenance
- Replace light bulbs, filters, and other routine consumables
- Handle minor repairs (loose hardware, drywall touch-ups, basic fixture issues)
- Identify and report larger maintenance or repair needs to ownership before they become bigger problems
- Basic troubleshooting of building systems (coordinate with contractors as needed)
Other
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies; flag when reorders are needed
- Occasional help with event setup/breakdown
- Work around active tenant schedules with minimal disruption
What We're Looking For
- Prior experience in janitorial work, building maintenance, or groundskeeping preferred but not required — we'll train the right person
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and using ladders, basic power tools, etc.
- Self-directed — able to work independently and manage a task list without close supervision
- Reliable and punctual; this role depends on consistency
- Valid driver's license required
- Willingness to work flexible or early/late hours to avoid disrupting tenants and members
Schedule and Compensation
- Part-time, flexible hours — 15-20 hours/week
- Pay dependent on experience
- Some seasonal flexibility required
