Position Summary
The Crew Leader is a hands-on player/coach responsible for leading a field installation crew to complete projects safely, efficiently, and according to scope and quality standards. This role sets the tone for job-site performance, productivity, accountability, and professionalism while serving as the key communication link between the crew and the Field Supervisor.
This is a working leader role for someone who understands commercial furniture installation, can keep a crew moving, catches issues early, and takes pride in completing work correctly the first time.
A Day in the Life
- Start the day by reviewing the project scope, layout, timeline, safety expectations, tools, materials, and daily work assignments with the crew.
- Work alongside installers while monitoring pace, labor hours, quality, safety, and job-site professionalism.
- Identify scope discrepancies, access issues, material shortages, schedule risks, or workmanship concerns early and communicate them to the Field Supervisor.
- Keep the crew focused, reduce downtime, adjust priorities as needed, and make sure daily productivity expectations are being met.
- Complete final walkthroughs, address quality concerns before leaving the job site, and provide daily job status updates through ClickUp.
Key Responsibilities
Crew Leadership and Execution
- Lead and supervise assigned installers on job sites.
- Ensure the team understands project scope, timelines, and quality expectations.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor progress throughout the shift.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, work ethic, and accountability.
- Set the example in productivity, quality, and safety.
Productivity and Labor Control
- Execute projects within estimated labor hours.
- Monitor pace of work and adjust resources as needed.
- Prevent downtime and idle labor.
- Ensure tools, materials, and equipment are prepared in advance.
- Track daily progress against schedule.
Quality Control
- Ensure installations meet company standards and client expectations.
- Perform final walkthroughs before declaring a job complete.
- Minimize return trips, rework, and call-backs.
- Address workmanship issues immediately.
- Help eliminate controllable zero sells.
Communication and Coordination
- Communicate clearly and proactively with the Field Supervisor regarding scope discrepancies, access issues, material shortages, and schedule risks.
- Provide accurate daily job status updates through ClickUp.
- Escalate problems early, not after delays occur.
Safety and Compliance
- Enforce safety procedures on job sites.
- Conduct daily safety checks.
- Ensure the crew follows company policies and client requirements.
- Report incidents immediately.
Team Development
- Train entry-level installers.
- Coach crew members on efficiency, quality, safety, and professionalism.
- Identify high performers and development opportunities.
- Support a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Knowledge and Required Skills
Knowledge
- Commercial furniture installation, office furniture installation, systems furniture, modular furniture, or related field installation work.
- Installation processes, job-site workflow, and sequencing of work.
- Scope documents, project layouts, and installation instructions.
- Labor-hour expectations, productivity targets, and how to reduce idle time.
- Quality standards, final walkthrough expectations, and customer satisfaction drivers.

Qualifications
- 3 years of commercial furniture installation experience preferred.

- Ability to read and interpret scope documents, project layouts, and work instructions.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- High accountability standards and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Salary : $24 - $28
