A Brief Overview
Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, will assist in the non-judgmental aspects of preparing medications for dispensing, and assist in retail pharmacy operations. Will provide services to patients from birth to death.
Education Qualifications
The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and the ability to identify and distinguish colors is essential.

Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED Required
- 1 year Pharmacy technician or healthcare experience. Preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. (Required proficiency)
- Registration with Kansas Board of Pharmacy prior to first day of work is required.
- National Technician Certification through agency recognized by Kansas Board of Pharmacy is required prior to the first registration renewal and maintained continuously.
- Properly use dispensing and bar coding technology to ensure accurate medication selection, counting, labeling, and dispensing of prescriptions.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, prescribers, and other team members across the health system; this includes in-person, telephonic, and written communication. Triage calls/patients/tasks in appropriate order of priority.
- Dispense prescriptions to patients, using point-of-sale system, ensuring appropriate collection of payment.
- Check medication outdates monthly for any assigned areas.
- When required, prepare simple non-sterile compounds at the direction of a pharmacist.
- Complies with all policies, standards, mandatory training and requirements of Stormont Vail Health
