A Brief Overview
The Cancer Center Program Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing cancer center programs to ensure high-quality patient care, compliance with accreditation standards, and operational efficiency. This role serves as a liaison between teams within the HOPD clinical and hospital, Cancer Center leadership triad, Administration and accrediting agencies, driving program development, quality improvement initiatives supporting high reliability organizations goals.
Essential Job Duties
- Program Oversight: Lead development, implementation, and evaluation of cancer center programs aligned with organizational goals. Monitor program performance metrics and prepare reports for leadership.
- Accreditation & Compliance: Coordinate activities to maintain compliance with CoC, NAPBC, ACR (American College of Radiology) and other regulatory standards. Serve as primary contact for accrediting bodies and manage documentation requirements. Monitor and report Press Ganey experience scores and assist with initiatives to enhance.
- Ensure full compliance with CoC, NAPBC, and ACR accreditation standards through coordinated program oversight.
- Direct and oversee the organization, communication, and documentation of tumor board activities for CoC and NAPBC.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration to meet accreditation requirements, including standards-driven committee participation.
- Provide leadership and administrative support for committees essential to accreditation readiness and continued compliance.
- Monitor patient experience performance using Press Ganey data and guide initiatives that support attainment of 5‑star status.
- Maintain comprehensive accreditation documentation, reports, and submission timelines to ensure timely and accurate compliance.
- Committee Leadership: Organize and lead multidisciplinary Cancer Committee meetings and tumor boards. Facilitate communication between physicians, nursing, ancillary and administrative teams.
- Quality Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement evidence-based practices. Collaborate with quality team, PEX teams, and Experience Teams to ensure continuous improvement in patient outcomes and experience.
- Education & Training: Develop and deliver staff education programs related to accreditation standards and program initiatives. Support onboarding and ongoing competency development for team members.
- Financial & Operational Management: Assist with budgeting, resource allocation, and cost containment strategies. Ensure efficient use of personnel and materials to meet program objectives.
- Complies with all policies, standards, mandatory training and requirements of Stormont Vail Health
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field. Required
- Master's Degree Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field. Preferred
- 3 years experience in oncology, program management, or healthcare leadership with demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary teams and strategic initiatives. Required
- Experience with accreditation processes and quality improvement or managing accreditation programs (CoC, NAPBC, ACR). Preferred
- Experience with cancer registry operations and data analytics. Preferred
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)- Magnet - ONCC-Magnet Must be obtained within 2 years of hire date
- Project Management Professional (PMP) - PMI Preferred
