A Brief Overview
Provides fire protection/general safety support for the medical center and all associated clinics/buildings by performing the following duties.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- 2 years Life Safety / Fire Safety or related experience. Required
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must have a good working rapport with fellow employees. To provide fire/safety support for the medical center buildings and all associated clinics/buildings. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. (Required proficiency)
What you will do
- Assists in development and implementation of safety policies and procedures. Assists in implementation of programs relating to general safety and fire protection. Conducts periodic site inspections to assess compliance with inhouse and outside agency safety regulations.
- Maintains documentation of inspections and follow-up. May develop and conduct formal training programs. Escort outside agencies on safety-related tours and inspections.
- Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Repairs or coordinates the repair of faulty equipment or systems. Must be able to perform routine building maintenance without supervision.
- Will be required to be on call during designated times. Shovels snow from walks and driveways; push snow with truck or tractor. Spreads salt on public passageways to prevent ice build up. Be on call during designated times.
- Ability to assume supervisory responsibilities in the event of fire, hazard materials accident, or other safety accidents. Can serve in a supervisory capacity in the absence of a supervisor.

- 30% Travel to clinics to perform duties.
