The perfect candidate would have:
- 4β7 years of experience at a top-tier Investment Bank (M&A or Tech group), Private Equity firm, or high-growth Corporate Development team
- A track record of executing complex M&A transactions end-to-end, from sourcing through close (Deal sizes $10'sMillions to $500M )
- Elite financial modeling skills β LBO, DCF, Accretion/Dilution, and SaaS-specific unit economics
- Genuine fluency in the Fintech and B2B SaaS landscape, including payment rails and the evolving impact of Generative AI
- The executive presence to hold their own in a boardroom alongside veteran bankers, legal counsel, and senior leadership
About the Role
As Director of Corporate Development & Strategic Initiatives, you will report directly to the CEO and serve as the primary internal lead for M&A activity. This is not a process-management role β it is a seat at the table. From day one, you will own an active, high-stakes deal process alongside an elite global investment banking partner. Long-term, you will be the architect of our inorganic growth strategy: identifying target sectors, cultivating proprietary deal flow, and translating market intelligence into board-level decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead M&A execution as the primary internal deal lead, managing workflows with bulge bracket or elite boutique bankers, legal counsel, and due diligence teams
- Build and own complex financial models (LBO, DCF, Accretion/Dilution, SaaS unit economics) to evaluate acquisition targets and partnership structures
- Develop thematic sourcing coverage across the Fintech/AI landscape, cultivating founder relationships ahead of formal processes
- Evaluate targets through a SaaS metrics lens β Rule of 40, Net Revenue Retention, CAC Payback β and translate findings into actionable executive strategy
- Distill complex analyses into crisp, board-ready materials that tell a clear and compelling story to leadership and investors
Qualifications:
- 4β7 years in M&A investment banking, private equity, or corporate development at a high-growth technology company
- Deep technical modeling skills with the ability to build a three-statement model from scratch
- Strong understanding of SaaS valuation drivers and Fintech market dynamics
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders
- MBA or relevant finance certification a plus, but track record and deal experience take precedence
