Process Engineer – Electroplating
This role supports and improves electroplating processes across production.
This is a hands-on, floor-based role, not a desk job. The Process Engineer works directly with operators, equipment, and chemistry to ensure processes run consistently, efficiently, and within specification.
The role requires the ability to solve problems at all levels, from real-time production adjustments to structured root cause investigations that reduce recurring issues.
This position works closely with production to help ensure processes are defined, followed, and continuously improved. The role also supports production planning and quoting to help ensure work is prepared correctly before it reaches the floor.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
• Supports a high mix job shop environment with multiple active processes while maintaining quality and priorities
• Helps keep production moving while maintaining process discipline and product quality
• Contributes to the development of clear, practical process standards
• Assists in turning informal knowledge into repeatable processes
• Supports preventative maintenance efforts for equipment and chemistry
• Helps reduce recurring issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Supports production readiness to reduce rework and inefficiencies
• Assists in aligning quoting with process capability
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• 5 Years of Hands-on electroplating experience in a production environment
• Experience with multiple base materials (Steel, Cu, Cu alloys, Aluminum)
• Exposure to a range of plating chemistries
• Experience troubleshooting and supporting live processes
• Exposure to process development or improvement
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Ability to solve problems in real time and support root cause analysis
• Strong communication with operators and support teams
• Ability to manage multiple processes in a fast-paced environment
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Support and Execution
• Support performance of plating processes across production
• Ensure processes are running within specification
• Work directly on the floor to support setup, troubleshooting, and changeovers
Problem Solving
• Make real-time adjustments to support production flow
• Identify recurring issues and contribute to long-term solutions
• Support root cause analysis efforts
Process Development and Standardization
• Assist in developing and refining plating processes
• Help create process sheets and work instructions
• Support standardization of key process steps
Production Planning and Readiness
• Support production planning by helping assess process readiness
• Assist in defining requirements for chemistry, equipment, and setups
• Help ensure jobs are prepared to run correctly
Quoting and Process Input
• Provide input to estimating on how jobs will be processed
• Help ensure work is aligned with actual process capability
Preventative Maintenance Support
• Support efforts to maintain equipment and chemistry stability
• Assist in maintaining PM systems and process consistency
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Production floor-based role with regular exposure to chemicals and equipment
