Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for improving equipment reliability, implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, supporting safety initiatives, and providing hands-on troubleshooting for complex industrial machinery.

Job Description

Safety & Compliance

• Lead safety-related design improvements to equipment and facilities.
• Conduct safety investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Support compliance with internal and external safety requirements.

Maintenance Engineering

• Develop, document, and enhance preventive maintenance (PM) programs.
• Implement and improve predictive maintenance (PdM) processes such as vibration analysis, thermography, or other condition-monitoring techniques.
• Analyze equipment failure data and production delays to optimize PM/PdM activities.
• Prepare and review root cause analysis (RCA) reports and implement corrective actions.
• Assess critical spare parts, drive standardization, and support inventory optimization.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

• Provide hands-on troubleshooting for mechanical equipment issues.
• Support maintenance during breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Offer on-call support as needed for after-hours or emergent issues.

Project Engineering

• Develop cost justifications for improvement projects and corrective actions.
• Write detailed work orders for maintenance and improvement activities.
• Coordinate work with contractors and internal teams to minimize disruptions.
• Audit completed work to ensure standards and requirements are met.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and performance metrics.
• Support long-term continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5 years of experience in maintenance engineering, mechanical systems reliability, industrial equipment support, or similar.
• Experience with both preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Strong troubleshooting capability for mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and failure data.
• Experience coordinating contractors, reviewing work quality, and managing small to mid-scale engineering projects.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available now or in the future).
