Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Technician to join our team immediately. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure lush, healthy landscapes for commercial and residential customers. Job Duties
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair irrigation systems, including controllers, valves, piping, and sprinklers using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Perform Spring turn-on audits of the systems.
- Conduct regular inspections during the irrigation season to ensure proper coverage and operation.
- Perform Winter turn-off and winterizations of the system.
- Collaborate with landscape maintenance crews and supervisors to ensure proper water application.
- Maintain detailed records of system repairs, audits, and inspections.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling tools, machinery, and chemicals associated with irrigation and landscaping work.
- Conduct system audits and recommend upgrades or adjustments for water efficiency.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- 5 year of proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing and maintaining irrigation systems.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices such as lawn care, horticulture principles, and general landscaping techniques.
- Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment like excavators in outdoor environments.
- Knowledge of horticultural standards and best practices for maintaining healthy landscapes.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics related to irrigation systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an active approach to troubleshooting issues efficiently on-site.
Preferred Skills But Not Mandatory
- Backflow prevention device certification
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
- Capability to kneel, crouch, and stand for extended periods.
