Maintenance & Landscaping Technician (Part-Time)
Sea Spray Resort - Boutique Hotel – Siesta Key, Florida
Role Information
- Pay Rate: $23/hour
- Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (24 hours per week)
- Reports To: Regional Manager
Position Overview
Sea Spray Resort, a luxury boutique property located in the heart of Siesta Key, is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance & Landscaping Technician to join our team. This hands-on role is responsible for ensuring the property’s buildings, grounds, and amenities remain in top condition for our guests. The ideal candidate has strong experience in general maintenance, painting, light plumbing, landscaping, and other repair work typical of a hotel or resort environment.
This is a part-time position (24 hours per week) with PTO. The role is ideal for a self-motivated professional who takes pride in keeping a property beautiful, functional, and guest-ready at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Property Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of guest rooms, common areas, and back-of-house facilities.
- Handle basic plumbing tasks such as unclogging drains, fixing minor leaks, and replacing fixtures.
- Conduct touch-up and preventative painting throughout the property as needed.
- Assist with minor electrical repairs, such as replacing outlets, light fixtures, and switches.
- Perform small carpentry or hardware fixes (door adjustments, cabinet repairs, furniture assembly).
- Support pool and deck maintenance, ensuring safety and cleanliness in all outdoor guest spaces.
- Report larger repair needs to management and coordinate with licensed vendors when necessary.
Landscaping & Grounds:
- Maintain property landscaping, including mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and debris removal.
- Care for resort plants, planters, and garden areas to ensure a clean and vibrant appearance.
- Power wash walkways, patios, and building exteriors as needed.
- Assist in seasonal outdoor projects, such as mulching, planting, and general beautification.
- Coordinate with outside vendors for larger annual projects like palm tree trimming or major cleanups.
Guest & Team Support:
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and guests.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas in good working order.
- Work collaboratively with the housekeeping and management teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance or facilities experience required.
- Practical knowledge in, Painting & drywall, Carpentry & furniture repair, Plumbing, Electrical, Landscaping/exterior upkeep.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a friendly, professional demeanor.\
- Must have a valid drivers license.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., use ladders, and work indoors/outdoors.
- Hospitality or resort experience preferred but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
- $23/hour (non-exempt)
