Summary: This position is responsible for supporting the Sales and Transitions (Business Development) teams by performing administrative tasks. Responsibilities include preparing documentation, coordinating meetings, and supporting new store transitions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Participate in transition calls and follow-up calls on new stores
- Update notes related to store transitions
- Confirm and/or place orders for all pre-transition items
- Coordinate with the operations team to ensure all items are set to be delivered for a successful transition
- Set up accounts for third-party vendors needed at the store level
- Assist with maintaining facility maps within self-storage software
- Complete remote lease audits as needed
- Maintain, track, and audit the completion of Transition Checklist items and follow up as needed
- Prepare, organize, and maintain selection committee notes and related documentation
- Assist with coordinating business development events, including client and tradeshow events
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and other business development materials
- Enter and update data in CRM and other business development tracking systems
- Schedule and coordinate meetings for the Business development team
- Participate in business development meetings and follow up on action items
- Support the Director of Business Development with administrative tasks and special projects
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all business development documentation
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Post-secondary education is preferred
- Previous experience in self-storage or business development is a plus
- Proven strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated high attention to detail and accuracy in work product
- Proven capacity to maintain the utmost confidentiality
- Demonstrated excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Language Skills: Must be fluent in speaking and writing the English language.
Work Hours: In a typical week, this position requires a minimum of 40 hours with regular and predictable attendance. Occasional weekend work may be required.
Work Environment: This work is usually performed indoors in an office environment with normal noise levels and no exposure to hazardous conditions. Employees in this position are required to reside in a state where SAM is registered to conduct business.
