Stop & Shop Summer Internship Program

Location: Quincy, MA

Duration: 10 weeks

The Stop & Shop paid summer internship program offers undergraduate students (Freshman through Senior) the opportunity to work on meaningful, real-world projects that make an impact. Stop & Shop's corporate support office provides an ideal environment to explore the complexities of the grocery industry. Interns gain valuable experience while developing leadership capabilities and business knowledge, with access to learning and development sessions, networking opportunities, and exposure to Stop & Shop's culture.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and be available from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027.

We have a hybrid work environment that requires a minimum of three days per week in the Quincy, MA Corporate Support Office (accessible by MBTA and Commuter Rail).

The Seafood Category Management Intern - Data Analytics & Planogram Development will support the Seafood Team with a primary focus on developing data-informed, item-level planograms for refrigerated packaged-seafood cases. This internship offers hands-on experience across retail category management, merchandising, store-space planning, data management, and financial and business-performance analysis.

What You'll Do:

• Visit approximately half of the stores in a selected district to measure and document refrigerated packaged-seafood case footage, shelf configuration, and usable merchandising space.
• Organize store-measurement information into a consistent and accurate reference file.
• Pull, clean, organize, and analyze relevant store- and item-level data, including sales dollars, unit movement, shrink, margin or profitability, assortment, and product performance.
• Establish baseline performance measures for pilot and comparison stores.
• Identify item-performance trends and recommend product assortment and space allocation based on available case capacity and business results.
• Develop item-level planograms for applicable refrigerated packaged-seafood case configurations.
• Create a tracker or dashboard to measure pilot success, including sales, units, shrink, and other relevant performance measures for stores operating on and off planogram.
• Partner with Seafood Team members and cross-functional stakeholders to validate findings and recommendations.
• Prepare and deliver a final presentation to company leadership summarizing the project, findings, recommendations, and measurement approach.
• Perform other duties and participate in additional projects as assigned.

What you bring to the table:

• Active enrollment in undergraduate college or university (Freshman through Senior) pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher
• Completion of at least one year of undergraduate coursework by the start of the internship.
• Pursuing or demonstrating interest in Data Management, Data Analytics, Finance, Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Coursework or experience in data analysis, finance, retail, merchandising, business analytics, or category management preferred.
  
  

Hourly rate: $20.00-$27.90 - rate will vary based on current academic year.
