What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Specials Teacher-Art position at STONY POINT?
Position is for the 2026/2027 school year.
Grain Valley teachers are expected to provide instruction that meets the district goals, mission, and benchmarks; create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interest of the students. All candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to their own ongoing professional growth.
Qualified candidates must possess an appropriate Bachelor’s degree and Elementary Specials Teacher-Art certification in the state of Missouri.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans for and guides the learning process to help students achieve educational objectives
- Selects and utilizes effective and appropriate instructional strategies
- Establishes a cooperative relationship with all students
- Creates an inclusive classroom environment through supportive exchanges with students and clear expectations for community behavior
- Creates a collaborative and supportive environment where students compete and grow through physical activity
- Works collaboratively with staff and administration to achieve the overall purposes of the academic program and the goals outlined in the building improvement plan
- Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations and student achievement, developing methods for improvement, and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home
- Assesses student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents, and administration
- Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and productive learning environment
- Engages in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of job-related knowledge and skill development
- Maintains regular and dependable attendance
- Well-versed in technology integration including G Suite for Education
Salary : $43,000 - $47,500
