Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Postdoctoral Research Associate, based in Stony Brook, NY. The selected candidate will conduct advanced research in their specialized field, design and execute experiments, analyze data, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams with a specific focus on chronic liver diseases. The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the Department of Medicine-Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Responsibilities include publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at conferences, and supporting teaching initiatives. The associate will also contribute to the mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students, aligning with the institution's academic mission. Qualifications
- Proficiency in Laboratory Skills and Research methodologies
- Strong foundation in Molecular Biology, Animal Handling, and Data Analysis
- Experience in Teaching and mentoring students
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
- A Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Neuroscience, Immunology, or a related field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment
- Commitment to academic excellence and advancing knowledge in the field.
Preferred Qualification:
The ideal post-doctoral fellow should have experience in immunology, brain, or CVD research and have a recent Ph.D. degree.

The associate is encouraged to pursue post-doctoral awards and career development awards from professional foundations and federal funding agencies, with support from a mentoring committee assembled by Dr. Huang and his collaborators.
