Clinical Laboratory Technologist: Stony Brook University Hospital (Stony Brook, NY) seeks multiple Clinical Laboratory Technologists to perform laboratory test analysis on a variety of specimens and review the accuracy of all final test results. Perform quality control procedures as required by department protocols and Federal/State regulations. Attempt to correct all deficiencies and raise all problems in the quality control program to a senior technologist. Recognize and attempt to identify the cause of routine laboratory problems and bring such problems to the attention of senior technologists. Responsible for maintaining up to date knowledge of current laboratory techniques and instrumentation as well as routine physiological concerns that may affect test results, as well as maintaining specific knowledge of safe laboratory practices as endorsed by the New York State Department of Health and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Assist senior staff in teaching Clinical Laboratory Sciences students and others in both laboratory theory and technique. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technologist or related field. 24 months experience as a Medical Technologist.   • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
  • Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
  • Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
