MRI Technologist - Per Diem (East Hampton Emergency Dept)
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Demonstrate proficiency in performing MRI imaging exams for all ages and adhere to safety procedures.
- MRI Tech operates the MRI equipment, prepares patients for procedures, and ensures that enough information has been obtained to make a diagnosis, assist in the management of patients and present images to the physician for diagnosis.
- Intravenous therapy/contrast selection and injection.
- Prepare and enter written documentation as required by the department, such as informed consent.
- Float to off-sites as needed
- Rotating weekends and holidays required.
SPECIAL SKILLS OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Program
- ARRT/NYSDOH License required. MRI Certification preferred.
- BLS required.
- Certified to do contract injections.
- Specialized training in MRI Technology and cross-sectional anatomy.
- Ability to sustain prolonged periods of sitting, walking, lifting, pulling and/or positioning and transferring patients.

Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
- Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
- Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
- Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
- Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
- The hiring department will be responsible for any fee incurred for examination.
