Job Duties & Essential Functions
- Responsible for stock control in all areas of the pharmacy .
- Driving medications to other Article 28 sites as needed .
- Restock intravenous solutions in IV Room when needed .
- Responsible for ordering pharmaceuticals and supplies as needed .
- Thoroughly checks expiration dates of drugs in all areas of the pharmacy.
- Shows competency in preparing LVP, PB, and TPN solutions under the supervision of the Pharmacist .
- Completes departmental / unit inspections in a timely manner .
- Shows competency in controlled substance procedures (C-2 Safe) .
- Assists in training of new personnel .
- Demonstrates understanding of the institution's pharmaceutical waste program .
- Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy.
- High School Diploma
- Current valid NY State Registered Pharmacy Technician license and registration
- Current valid Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Health career Association (NHA) Pharmacy Technician certification
- At least 1 year of previous related experience
- Computer literacy
- Ability to prioritize
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to assign and oversee tasks performed by Volunteers
- Valid NY State Driver's License
