What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Monitor position at Stonington Public Schools?

One of the following:
- Associate's degree or higher
- Earned 60 or more college credits
- Passing score on the ParaPathways Assessment
- Graduation from high school
- Preference for those with training in safety and basic first aid
- Preference to those with experience working with teenage students.

Special requirements of the position:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective public and working relationships
- Ability to relate to students in a manner that elicits their cooperation
- Ability to understand and effectively carry out instructions
- Ability to exercise mature judgment in controlling student behavior
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and adapt to a variety of situations.
- Helps ensure orderly student and staff movement after the school day ;
- Assists students, staff, and visitors as needed;
- Monitors student lavatories, athletic facilities, and restricted sections of the building;
- Conducts perimeter patrols as necessary;
- Monitors video surveillance cameras and completes reviews as necessary;
- Monitors for and reports any violations of school rules or school security standards to school administrators as necessary
- Reports facts, and observable trends, and makes appropriate recommendations for improvements to school administrators;
- Monitors and reports on building parking violations;
- Performs other duties as related to their position as assigned by their immediate supervisor
