We are excited to announce the following vacancy in Rochester Community Schools for the 2026-27 school year.

HEALTH SCIENCES INSTRUCTOR
.20 FTE / PART TIME
2 HRS PER DAY, 5th and 6th hour /10 hours per week
STONEY CREEK HIGH SCHOOL
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Michigan Occupational Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in CIP 51.0000 - Health Sciences, or qualifications to obtain an Annual Career Authorization (ACA) in Health Sciences. (4000 hours of clinical experience)
- Current and valid healthcare license (e.g., RN, CNA, MA, PCT) as applicable and required by the State of Michigan.
- Bachelors degree, preferred
- Additional certifications in healthcare fields strongly preferred.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO:
Building Administrator and CTE Director
JOB GOAL:
Responsible for delivering a state-approved curriculum, coordinating with local health care partners, managing program equipment and materials, and supporting student success in a high-demand industry pathway.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, plan, and deliver curriculum aligned with the Michigan CTE Health Sciences Standards and RCS curriculum frameworks.
- Lab preparation, setup, and tear-down.
- Assist with the check-off of clinical skills with students.
- Creating classroom routines and grading assignments.
- Maintain a safe and effective instructional laboratory that reflects industry standards and supports student learning.
- Develop instructional plans that support equity, engagement, and career-readiness for all students.
- Build and sustain an active Advisory Committee with community and industry representation.
- Collaborate with the RCS CTE Department, high school staff, and local healthcare partners to coordinate:
- Job shadowing
- Clinical rotations (if applicable)
- Field trips
- Guest speakers
- Work-based learning opportunities
- Promote student participation in HOSA or other CTSOs and leadership activities.
- Support recruitment and public relations efforts for the Health Sciences pathway, including presentations, showcases, and open house events.
- Participate in RCS staff development, CTE professional learning, and ongoing curriculum improvement initiatives.
- Support students in their exam preparation to assist them in passing the Medical Assistant Certification.
SALARY:
EduStaff Position: $50 per hour
