What You'll Learn

As an Entry-Level Veterinary Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced veterinary assistants, licensed veterinary nurses, and veterinarians while learning every aspect of hospital operations, including:

• Safe patient handling and restraint
• Preparing exam rooms and treatment areas
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient hospital
• Laundry and hospital sanitation
• Surgical instrument cleaning and preparation
• Running in-house laboratory diagnostics
• Preparing laboratory samples
• Drawing up vaccines and medications under supervision
• Assisting during appointments
• Supporting surgery and dentistry
• Caring for hospitalized patients
• Monitoring patients during recovery
• Medical record assistance
• Inventory management and stocking
• Client communication and education

Experience

Previous animal experience is helpful but not required. Our rate range reflects those with experience, but can be negotiated depending on that experience.

Schedule

• Full-time
• Four-day work week
• Rotating Saturdays (approximately 4–6 Saturdays per year)
