General Dentist (Part-Time)
We are seeking an experienced, patient-focused General Dentist to join our modern, state-of-the-art, multispecialty family dental practice in a part-time capacity. This role is ideal for a provider who enjoys working in a collaborative, technology-driven environment and is looking for a consistent, one-day-per-week schedule with the opportunity to expand days over time.
Preferred Schedule: One day per week (Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday), with additional days available as needed based on patient demand and provider availability.
Position Overview
As our General Dentist, you will deliver a high-quality clinical experience primarily for adult patients, working alongside a strong, well-trained support team. Our practice includes a dedicated pediatric specialist, allowing you to focus your time and expertise on comprehensive adult care.
Our office utilizes CareStack for practice management, Carestream for advanced imaging, and iTero digital scanning technology—creating a fully digital, efficient clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive dental exams and develop personalized treatment plans
- Perform a wide range of procedures including restorations, crowns, and extractions (primarily for adult patients)
- Provide preventive care and patient education
- Address patient questions and present treatment clearly and confidently
- Collaborate with hygienists and team members to ensure efficient patient flow
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation
Qualifications
- DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
- Active Virginia dental license
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in private practice (preferred)
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in general dentistry, particularly with adult patients
- Excellent communication skills and confident case presentation ability
- Professional, efficient, and patient-centered chairside manner
Preferred (Not Required but Strongly Valued)
- Currently credentialed with PPO insurance plans
- Credentialed with Virginia Adult Medicaid
- Credentialed with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
- Experience working in a fully digital practice environment
- Ability to step into an existing patient flow with minimal ramp-up
