Job Summary And Qualifications
The mammographer performs diagnostic, screening and interventional mammography procedures. Assists physicians during interventional procedures. Practices radiation safety and observes universal precautions at all times. Pursues professional development for the continual improvement of patient care. Performs related work as required.

Job Summary And Qualifications
The mammographer performs diagnostic, screening and interventional mammography procedures. Assists physicians during interventional procedures. Practices radiation safety and observes universal precautions at all times. Pursues professional development for the continual improvement of patient care. Performs related work as required.
- Performs all diagnostic and screening mammograms per ACR guidelines and departmental protocols.
- Performs stereotactic biopsies.
- Performs bone density studies (DEXA).
- Communicates with the patient the nature of the procedure and answers questions clarifying the procedure for the patient.
- Assures patients' rights and privacy are maintained.
- Education: Graduate of a program in radiologic technology approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or documented equivalent education.
- Licensure: Current certification by the American Registry of Radiology: Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as an RT(R) and Mammographer (M). BCLS required.
- Experience: Ability to perform mammography procedures following accepted standards and departmental protocols.
