Job Summary

We are looking for a dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented Prep Cook to join our kitchen staff and help us make America’s Best Pizzas!

As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients and completing daily kitchen preparation tasks to ensure the restaurant is ready to serve customers efficiently. You will work closely with the kitchen team to maintain proper food quality, portioning, cleanliness, and organization.

This position is an important part of keeping the kitchen running smoothly and ensuring our team has the ingredients and supplies needed to prepare customer orders.

Prep Cook Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare and portion ingredients according to company recipes and standards.

• Wash, cut, slice, chop, and prepare vegetables and other food items as needed.

• Prepare pizza toppings, sauces, dough, and other ingredients for daily operations.

• Properly label, date, store, and rotate prepared ingredients.

• Maintain appropriate food quantities throughout the shift.

• Assist with preparing ingredients for customer orders.

• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary preparation area.

• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, utensils, containers, and kitchen equipment.

• Assist with stocking and organizing food, supplies, and storage areas.

• Monitor ingredients and notify management when supplies are running low.

• Help with kitchen cleanup and closing duties as assigned.

• Receive in-the-moment coaching and hands-on training.

• Assist management and other Team Members with daily restaurant tasks as needed.

• Work efficiently and communicate with the kitchen team during busy periods.

• Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Our Goal

The Prep Cook helps set the entire kitchen team up for success. By properly preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and keeping supplies stocked, you will help ensure our customers receive fresh, consistent, and high-quality food every time.

REQUIREMENTS

• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs and move ingredients and supplies safely throughout every shift.
• Maintain reliable transportation and a consistent attendance record for both full-time and part-time schedules.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation requirements, including proper handwashing, glove use when needed, and keeping prep areas clean and organized.
• Prepare ingredients accurately using Stoner's Pizza Joint recipes, portioning standards, and production timelines.
• Wash, chop, portion, and store ingredients in labeled containers while following FIFO rotation and storage guidelines.
• Keep your assigned station stocked, organized, and ready for use, ensuring tools and equipment are cleaned and returned properly after each task.
• Assist with basic kitchen setup and complete closing duties as assigned by the shift lead or manager.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment while maintaining quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Be able to stand and work on your feet for extended periods during busy shifts, with minimal breaks.
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen team and promptly report shortages, ingredient issues, equipment problems, and any safety concerns.
• Use basic time-management skills to keep up with prep schedules and support smooth service during peak hours.
• Maintain a professional, team-focused attitude and support other kitchen staff as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
