The Role
We are looking for a journeyman plumber with strong hydronics knowledge to help with our heating calls, with an apprentice to assist when needed. Our work breaks down as follows on avaerage:
- 30% Boilers: Navien (our crew is Navien-certified), Weil-McLain, Burnham, and Viessmann. High-efficiency and standard boilers, steam and hot water, in residential and commercial multifamily buildings.
- 30% Service Calls: Residential plumbing and heating diagnosis and repair.
- 30% Property Management Calls: Steady work across our managed portfolio.
- 10% Rough-In: Renovations and new construction.
Drain cleaning is handled by a separate dedicated crew, so you stay focused on plumbing and heating.
Requirements
- Journeyman Plumber license in RI and/or MA
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong general plumbing skills: diagnosis and repair of supply, drain, waste, and vent systems; water heaters (tank and tankless); fixtures; and rough-in for renovations and new construction
- Hands-on hydronics experience: installation, service, and troubleshooting of hot water boiler systems, including high-efficiency (mod-con/combi) and standard boilers
- Solid understanding of near-boiler piping, zoning (zone valves and circulators), expansion tanks, controls, and indirect water heaters
- Working knowledge of RI and/or MA plumbing code
Preferred
- Steam system experience
- Combustion analysis and boiler commissioning
- Navien, Weil-McLain, Burnham, or Viessmann experience
Pay & Schedule
- $38–45/hr based on experience
- Time-and-a-half overtime available
- Year-end bonus: when the company does well, everyone does well
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (renovation crew 7:00 AM–3:00 PM)
- Rotating weekend on-call for emergencies only, with crew backup; paid hourly when called out
