Stoneleigh-Burnham School, an independent girls’ boarding and day school for grades 7-12, is seeking a part-time cook, effective immediately. Located in the Pioneer Valley, a short drive from the Five College Consortium (UMass Amherst, Smith, Mount Holyoke, Hampshire and Amherst College), Stoneleigh-Burnham School attracts students from the local area and around the world.
Shifts available: (part-time, school year August 29th - June 6th)
Brunch and Dinner Cook, 8:00 am - 8:00 pm, Saturdays and Sundays
OR we may offer two separate positions:
Brunch Cook, 8:00 am - 1:00 pm, or Dinner Cook, 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the production and service of weekend Brunch and/or Dinner for 30 - 50 Boarding Students and Resident Staff families
- Helps with the production and service during special functions up to 8 times a year (ex: Reunion, Family Weekends, Formal Dinners)
- Oversees that safe food prep, serving and cleaning procedures are followed by the other two Dining Staff members that work with you on the weekends.
Qualities and Qualifications:
- Have Servsafe Certification or be willing to pursue certification within 60 days of hire.
- High volume catering, restaurant or institutional cooking experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Must have good people skills and a positive attitude.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Compensation:
- Starting pay: $17.00 per hour
