Senior POS Functional Tester

Title: Senior POS Functional tester
Location: Coppell, Texas(Onsite)

Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior POS Functional Tester with strong expertise in Point of Sale (POS) testing across software, hardware, and integrations. The candidate will be responsible for test planning, authoring, execution, and defect management for POS systems. This includes POS Lab setup, validating hardware devices, and ensuring correct POS configurations (menus, pricing, taxes, tenders, discounts, promotions). The role also requires database validation, Agile sprint participation, and working knowledge of Cloud, Kubernetes, and Docker.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Test Planning & Documentation: Prepare comprehensive test plans, test strategy, and execution approach for POS projects.
•    Test Case Authoring & Execution: Create and execute high-level test cases covering critical business flows across POS modules.
•    POS Lab Setup: Establish and maintain lab environments including POS terminals, printers, handhelds, KDS, pin pads, and scanners.
•    Functional & Integration Testing for:  1. POS configurations (menus, pricing, taxes, payments, discounts, loyalty). 2.   End-to-end transactions (guest checks, multi-tender payments, KDS/printers, employee & labor management).
•    Hardware Device Validation: Test receipt printers, scanners, handhelds, pin pads, and other connected devices.
•    Database Testing: Validate transaction data, POS workstation DB sync, and central reporting DB accuracy.
•    Defect Management: Log, track, and manage defects in Azure DevOps, ensuring proper triage and resolution.
•    Collaborate with Cloud/DevOps teams on POS deployments in Kubernetes/Docker environments.
•    Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives).
•    Provide status reporting on test progress, risks, and deliverables.

Required Skills & Experience
•    QA experience in POS testing (retail/restaurant/entertainment).
•    Proven experience in test planning, test case authoring, and defect logging/tracking (preferably in Azure DevOps).
•    Strong understanding of POS configurations: menus, pricing, taxes, tenders, discounts.
•    Hands-on experience with POS Lab setup and hardware testing.
•    Proficiency in database testing 
•    Knowledge of Cloud applications, Kubernetes, and Docker deployments.
•    Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.

Good-to-Have
•    POS upgrade or migration testing experience.
•    Exposure to multi-location POS rollouts.
