About the Role:

The Assistant Director of Nurses - LVN/RN plays a critical leadership role within the healthcare team at Stonegate, ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care to patients. This position supports the Director of Nursing by overseeing daily nursing operations, coordinating staff activities, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. The role involves direct supervision and mentorship of Licensed Vocational Nurses and other nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. The ADON actively participates in developing and implementing nursing policies, quality improvement initiatives, and patient care protocols to enhance service outcomes. Ultimately, this position is pivotal in promoting patient safety, staff development, and operational excellence within the nursing department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or RN license in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care or similar healthcare setting.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a leadership role within a long-term care or rehabilitation facility.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within a nursing team.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices, healthcare regulations, and patient care standards.
  • Basic proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare documentation systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Additional training or coursework in healthcare management or administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in managing nursing staff schedules, assignments, and performance evaluations to ensure adequate coverage and high-quality care.
  • Provide direct supervision and guidance to Licensed Vocational Nurses and other nursing personnel, promoting professional development and adherence to best practices.
  • Monitor patient care activities to ensure compliance with established protocols, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans and facilitate effective communication among healthcare providers.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing policies, procedures, and quality improvement programs.
  • Respond promptly to patient and family concerns, ensuring a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and timely documentation related to nursing activities, staffing, and patient care.
  • Support infection control initiatives and safety protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
