Job Summary: The Cosmetologist provides professional beauty services including hair, makeup, and nail treatments in a clean, welcoming, and guest-focused environment. This role ensures each guest receives a personalized, high-quality experience that reflects the service standards of the salon or spa.

Essential Functions and Duties:

• Provide a full range of cosmetology services including haircuts, styling, coloring, blowouts, and treatments based on guest needs and preferences
• Offer additional beauty services such as makeup application, nail care (manicures/pedicures), and scalp or conditioning treatments, as licensed and trained
• Consult with guests to understand their goals, provide professional recommendations, and maintain detailed client service records
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, tools, and equipment in compliance with local regulations and company standards
• Promote and recommend salon products based on individual guest needs and treatment plans
• Stay current on beauty trends, techniques, and product knowledge to deliver modern, on-brand services
• Follow safety protocols and infection control practices at all times
• Support salon/spa operations by helping with laundry, retail upkeep, and front desk assistance as needed
• Deliver consistent, professional service while fostering a positive, relaxing atmosphere for all guests
• Ensure each guest leaves feeling confident, cared for, and inspired to return

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:

• Valid Cosmetology license in the applicable state
• Proficiency in haircutting, styling, color services, and additional services as licensed (e.g., nails, makeup)
• Previous experience in a salon, spa, or hospitality setting preferred
• Strong consultation skills and a guest-focused, service-minded attitude
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance and communication style
• Comfort using salon tools, equipment, and retail product lines
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform detailed work with hands
• Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required
  
  

Work Environment:

• Work is performed in a salon or spa setting with frequent interaction with guests and team members
• Exposure to hair care products, chemicals, and salon tools including dryers, curling/flat irons, and nail equipment
• Standing for long periods, repetitive hand motions, and occasional lifting of supplies up to 25 lbs
• Calm, client-centered environment with a focus on appearance, cleanliness, and service delivery
