JOB DESCRIPTION 

Job Summary:  This position is part of our Culinary Innovation Hub Grab-n-Go team, which produces a lineup of our most popular signature salads, homemade Ready-to-Heat entrees, signature wood-fired Take-n-Bake pizzas, and our award-winning tiramisu dessert. These items are available in grocery stores around Puget Sound.

As a Shipping Driver, your responsibility is to deliver, pick up, and transport our products and supplies to customers, vendors and Tutta Bella locations. Tutta Bella handles substantial quantities of perishable and/or delicate products, and it is the driver’s responsibility to ensure safe and proper handling as appropriate.  Additionally, you will support shipping, receiving, and handling of materials at our production hub. This includes inspecting, labeling, forklift operations, binning & packing, cleaning, inventory maintenance and any other tasks required to ensure all products are handled in a way that meets Tutta Bella’s quality and safety requirements.

Essential Job Duties:

• Perform daily routine safety checks and pre-trip inspections on assigned vehicle. 
• Follow all required and appropriate safety measures for assigned vehicles. 
• Navigate and operate vehicles within assigned service areas and in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
• Load and unload all assigned products and materials in accordance with normal safety and operating procedures and report any violations to a supervisor.
• Ensure that products and materials being transported comply with legal load limits.
• Report all accidents or vehicle damage to a supervisor as soon as is safe and practical.
• Ensure reasonable security and safety of assigned vehicles, inventory and equipment.
• Support good customer and vendor relations and positive brand image for Tutta Bella throughout the service process.
• Print stickers for tracking and traceability.
• Clean the walk-in freezer and maintain its organization
• Bin and pack orders
• Fold and stage boxes for shipping
• Complete all Tutta Bella forms 

Additional Duties: 

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Perform and assist with general housekeeping tasks including sweeping, mopping, and washing trucks.
• Arrive for each scheduled shift on time and ready to work with proper equipment.
• Report barriers to completing daily delivery and merchandising tasks to a supervisor in a timely manner.
• Contribute to a working environment where everyone is valued and respected.
• Remain coachable and eager to improve and grow.
• Support the work of other teams to ensure that production and shipping can be completed on schedule.
• Actively communicate with supervisors, coworkers and other teams to increase efficiency, quality and safety.
• Operate a forklift once trained and certified.

Required Experience, Certifications and Education:

• Maintain a current Food Handler’s Permit valid in King County.
• Complete and maintain all required training as provided by Tutta Bella in accordance with FDA and USDA requirements.
• Learn and apply safe-handling procedures for all equipment and appliances used in the completion of daily work through training provided by Tutta Bella.
• Maintain required certifications for use of forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and any other motorized equipment approved for use by Tutta Bella in the completion of daily position tasks.
• Maintain a clean driving record with no more than 1 at-fault violation or moving violation within 3 years. This position is subject to driving record checks by both Tutta Bella and our vehicle insurance carrier.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to work while standing and walking for up to 4 hours without sitting.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly without strain.
• Must be able to safely lift up to 80 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment:  The Shipping Driver/ Hub Specialist will regularly work in conditions open to the elements such as loading dock and parking lot conditions. This position will also frequently work in refrigerated or frozen rooms. All work must be performed wearing required and appropriate safety equipment including slip-resistant shoes, gloves, and florescent vests.  This position will occasionally need to wear food safety equipment including a lab coat, hairnet, and food-safe gloves when required to access food production spaces. 

Travel Requirement: The Shipping Driver/ Hub Specialist role is primarily mobile within western Washington state, generally as far north as Bellingham and as far south as Tacoma.   Each shift will start and end at our Culinary Innovation Hub in Seattle’s SODO neighborhood.  Outside of assigned routes, travel is not required. 

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be fluent and literate in English in order to provide customer service at delivery locations and complete inventory management reporting. 
• Must be at least 21 years of age. 
• Must be eligible to work in the United States of America (USA). 
• Must have a valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record with no more than 1 at-fault accident or moving violation within the past 3 years, and no history of driver’s license suspension or revocation.
