What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Theatre Instructor position at Stone Soup Theatre?
TEACHING ARTIST
After School Programs 25-26: Fall, Winter, Spring, Mid Winter and Spring Break Camps
The ideal applicant has:
- A love of theatre, and a passion for engaging youth in the arts
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- The ability to develop live theatre pieces from beginning to end
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Knowledge of how to work with a variety of ages and abilities
- Musical theatre experience encouraged
- Reliable transportation encouraged
Requirements:
- Teaching Artists are desired to work afterschool throughout the school year, with possibility of Directing during the summer with our Summer Stage program.
- Teaching Artists should have some experience working with children and either be completing a theatre or education degree, be a theatre or education graduate, or have significant theatre experience.
- All employees partake in safety abuse training, and pass a background check, as required by the state of Washington.
