Job Summary/Purpose: **MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE**

Develops business through insurance adjusters, customers, and other sources to assure an

adequate sales volume. Provides a reasonable department operating profit and maintains

customer satisfaction standards while controlling expenses. Directs the activities of body shop

employees in performing body repairs, including meeting time schedules and productivity levels

and maintaining quality standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Ø Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them.

Ø Hires, trains, motivates and monitors the performance of all body shop employees.

Ø Directs and schedules the work of all body shop employees.

Ø Establishes and maintains good working relationships with insurance adjusters.

Ø Establishes and maintains good working relationships with customers to encourage

repeat and referral business.

Ø Monitors technicians' daily productivity.

Ø Monitors progress and completion of vehicles in the shop, ensuring that proper repair

and safety procedures are followed.

Ø Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot

checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.

Ø Checks quality of completed work.

Ø Handles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership's guidelines.

Ø Monitors paper flow to ensure that all documents are accounted for, filled out

completely and legibly and filed or distributed to the appropriate parties.

Ø Controls accounts receivables for body repair work.

Ø Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations

that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-

Know etc. Provides necessary training.

Ø Ensures that proper safety equipment is available and being used properly.

Ø Facilitates and/or conducts technical training and sends employees to appropriate

training schools as needed.

Ø Monitors the maintenance of paint booths, frame straightening equipment, and other

equipment to ensure long-term usage and value.

Ø Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases.

Ø Ensures that the work areas and customer waiting area are kept clean.

Ø Attends Management and Team meetings.

Ø Maintains professional appearance.

Ø Other tasks as assigned.

Ø A high school diploma or GED is required.

Ø At least 2 years experience working as a GM is required and 1 year shop experience.

Ø Other training and experience will be considered.

Physical Requirements:

Ø Standing or sitting for long periods. Crawling, climbing, laying on ground as required to

complete tasks as needed.

Ø Lifting up to 50 lbs.

Ø Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to

Mental Skills:

Ø Mathematical - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using

whole numbers, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as

discounts, commissions, percentages. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as

discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of

basic algebra and geometry. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as

probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and

trigonometry.

Ø Reasoning - Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of

instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to apply

principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical

problems. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid

conclusions.

Ø Language - Ability to read and interpret and create documents such as estimates, safety

rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write

routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of

customers or employees of organization. Bilingual preferred.

Pay: From $1,500.00 per week
