Experienced Metal Polisher / Finisher
Stone Manufacturing Company is seeking an experienced Metal Polisher / Finisher to join our manufacturing team in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.
This is a hands-on shop position focused on sanding, polishing, buffing, and finishing brass and other metals used in the production of custom fireplace furnishings. We are looking for someone with previous metal-finishing experience who takes pride in producing clean, consistent, high-quality work.
Responsibilities
- Sand, polish, buff, and finish brass and other metal components
- Prepare metal surfaces for finishing
- Use hand tools, power tools, polishing equipment, and other shop equipment safely and efficiently
- Inspect finished work for quality and consistency
- Follow work instructions and production specifications
- Maintain strong attention to detail throughout the finishing process
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Work with the production team to complete projects on schedule
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of relevant shop or metal-finishing experience preferred
- Previous experience in metal polishing, sanding, buffing, or finishing preferred
- Experience working with brass, copper, stainless steel, or other metals is a plus
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday through Friday
- 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Some Saturday overtime will be required based on production needs
