Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced fertilizer professional to step into a critical leadership role within our company. This position is ideal for someone with 5 years of hands-on fertilization experience who is ready to own, manage, and grow the fertilizer side of a landscaping business.
This is not an entry-level applicator role. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, take full ownership of fert operations, improve systems, lead by example, and help expand this division of our company.
Role Overview
The Senior Fertilizer Technician / Fertilization Manager is responsible for managing and executing all fertilizer, weed control, and pesticide applications across residential and commercial properties. In addition to daily route execution, this role oversees inventory, equipment, safety, quality control, training, and operational improvements for the fert division.
This is a seasonal position with strong hourly compensation for the right candidate.
Compensation
- $35.00 – $45.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Growth
- Take ownership of the fertilizer division and actively contribute to its growth and efficiency
- Manage and execute fertilizer routes while improving workflows and systems
- Train, mentor, and support new and existing fertilizer technicians
- Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Provide recommendations to leadership on improvements, products, and services
Operations & Administration
- Track and complete routes in Mobile Live (WorkWave)
- Submit hours and photos daily in SynkedUp
- Complete After Action Reports daily
- Maintain a gate time of 20 minutes or less
- Manage shop inventory of fertilizer, seed, pesticides, and weed control products
- Ensure accurate electronic recording of all services
- Maintain all required applicator licenses and certifications
Equipment & Safety
- Maintain applicator equipment, trucks, trailers, and aerators
- Perform and delegate preventative maintenance (daily inspections, cleaning, lubrication)
- Enforce safety standards, PPE compliance, and a clean safety record
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard
Customer & Team Interaction
- Communicate professionally and courteously with customers
- Provide customers with detailed service explanations and lawn care recommendations
- Coordinate with other crews and departments as needed

- Monday – Friday
Requirements
- 5 years of fertilizer / applicator experience (required)
- Proven ability to work independently and manage a fertilization operation
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required applicator licenses
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet seasonal demands
- Knowledge of materials, tools, and equipment used in fertilizer and landscape operations
- Ability to safely operate required equipment and tools
- Must speak, read, and write English
- Must carry and use a smartphone or data-enabled device for reporting and communication
- Willingness to assist with additional duties as needed
