Position Title: QA Supervisor
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports To: Manager or Director
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Purpose and Scope of Position
The QA Supervisor oversees the Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) team and ensures the effective implementation of food safety and quality systems. This role is responsible for supervising QA and Sanitation teams, maintaining compliance with regulatory and customer standards, and driving continuous improvement in food safety and quality practices across the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Lead and coordinate daily activities of QA and Sanitation Technicians, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
· Ensure execution of food safety and quality programs, including inspections, batch record reviews, and sanitation procedures.
· Monitor compliance with FDA cGMPs, company policies, and customer specifications.
· Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality and safety issues.
· Oversee product testing, environmental monitoring, and final product release.
· Manage non-conforming product disposition and related documentation.
· Support regulatory, third-party, and customer audits (e.g., SQF, Kosher, Organic, Non-GMO).
· Assist with label and artwork review, ensuring accuracy of nutritional and ingredient information.
· Maintain and improve FSQA documentation, SOPs, and performance metrics.
· Foster a culture of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
· Perform QA or Sanitation Technician duties as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of FDA cGMP regulations (21 CFR 117), preferred
- Effective communication, analytical thinking, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to lead diverse teams, manage change, and make independent decisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
· May occasionally lift to 50 pounds independently or with assistance.
Education & Experience:
· High School Diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in food science, Nutrition, or related field preferred.
· Minimum 3 years of quality assurance experience, food manufacturing preferred.
· At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
· PCQI Certification is desirable; SQF Practitioner Certification preferred.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
