Purpose and Scope of Position

The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and managing warehouse operations to ensure efficient product receipt, storage, order fulfillment, and distribution. This role requires strong leadership skills, knowledge of the warehouse best practices, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The Warehouse Supervisor will play a vital role in maintaining safety standards, optimizing productivity, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Warehouse Operations Management: Supervise and coordinate warehouse activities, including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping. Implement and maintain warehouse procedures to achieve operational goals and meet customer requirements. Collaborate with other departments, such as Operations, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance, to streamline processes and address operational challenges.
• Team Leadership and Development: Assists with the Hiring, training, and scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure adequate staffing levels and efficient operations. Provide coaching and performance feedback to warehouse staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Foster a positive and safe working environment, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to company policies.
• Inventory Control and Reporting: Maintain accurate inventory records, conducting regular audits and cycle counts. Coordinate and participate in monthly inventories, ensuring timely reporting of results. Analyze inventory data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy and minimize stockouts.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety awareness and adherence. Collaborate with the Warehouse Distribution Manager to develop and implement safety training programs and initiatives. Maintain records related to safety training, incidents, and compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Equipment Maintenance and Optimization: Coordinate with the maintenance department and external contractors to schedule routine and preventative maintenance for warehouse equipment. Identify opportunities to optimize warehouse layout, material handling, and transportation operations for improved efficiency. Monitor equipment performance and address issues or malfunctions immediately.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvement opportunities and implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance warehouse operations. Analyze warehouse performance metrics, identify variances, and develop and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and improve overall business performance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of warehouse and distribution best practices, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping/receiving procedures.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements.
• Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective leadership and people skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to identify and address quality and food safety issues.
• Shows consistent flexibility in adjusting to system, procedural, cultural, managerial, and philosophical changes in the department.
• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, stacking, and prolonged periods of standing or stooping. Ability to lift 50 pounds, stack/unstack or carry, climb stairs and ladders, perform repetitive motions, and work in a dusty, loud, and hot environment.

Experience and Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred.
• 3 years related experience in a warehouse or distribution role, preferably in the food or manufacturing industry.
• Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience, overseeing a team, managing workflow, and ensuring productivity
