This is a brand-new position. You won’t inherit someone else’s system. You’ll design and build your own.

Our CEO will define the goal: what the finished quality control system needs to achieve and the parameters it has to work within. From there, how you design it, build it, and run it is up to you. You get the destination; you choose the route. The system you build will be yours.

About the Role

Stone Fortress owns every property we work on and acts as general contractor on all renovations. We’re looking for a detail-driven construction leader to make sure every job is finished completely and meets our standards. You’ll inspect completed work, lead contractor walkthroughs, manage contractor communication, and lead or support project planning depending on the job.

Clear Expectations, Calmly Enforced

Some contractors will push back, test limits, or try to do things their own way. We need someone who holds the line calmly. You’ll set clear expectations, hold contractors to them, and keep jobs moving, all without yelling, arguing, or burning bridges. Firm and fair, every time. If you can say “this isn’t done yet” and get it fixed without starting a fight, you’re who we’re looking for.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and own the company’s quality control system, including checklists, inspection standards, and job close-out procedures
• Inspect completed tasks and final jobs against the scope, blueprints, and our quality standards
• Create punch lists and make sure every item is corrected before a job closes
• Lead contractor walkthroughs from pre-construction through final
• Serve as the main point of contact with contractors
• Lead scope, schedule, budget, and material ordering on assigned projects, and support them on others
• Train field staff and contractors on our quality standards

What You Bring

• 2 years of management experience
• 2 years of construction experience in residential and/or light commercial
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints
• Solid understanding of construction sequencing and methods
• A high level of attention to detail
• Clear, effective communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• Basic AI skills with the willingness and desire to advance them
• Confidence to enforce standards with strong-willed contractors while staying calm, respectful, and professional
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured on our company vehicle policy
• OSHA 30 Construction is preferred but not required

Schedule and Work Setting

• Monday–Friday days. No nights, no weekends, no holidays
• About 25% in the office and 75% in the field
• You’ll report to our Milton office daily and travel to job sites within an hour
• A company vehicle is provided
