What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver/Companion position at Stone Family?
Thanks to his caregivers, our son, Adam who is 38 and on the spectrum really enjoys his life. Adam likes to stay active by going to the pool, beach, parks and nature centers, visiting stores, going on walks, and listening to live music and other in-town activities. He is typically a joy to be with and has a truly sweet and loving nature. Adam can express his needs and feelings quite well despite being nonverbal. He also understands directions fairly well and is cooperative. Your goal will be to keep Adam safe and engaged while having a lot of fun!
In addition, we would like you to:
- Be very warm, engaging, patient and attentive
- Have some care giving experience, preferably involving special needs
- Enjoy being physically active
- Be willing to provide toileting (wiping) support
- Own or have exclusive use of a car with insurance
While Adam will treat you well, so will we. We provide training, bonuses and paid time off, and we’ll be very responsive to any needs you may have. As a result, our best caregivers often work for many years and stay in touch after they leave. You can select hours (up to 40/week) between 2 PM to midnight, and select your days.
If you develop an especially caring bond with Adam and can take on more responsibility, you could become the Care Manager and your pay would increase substantially.
