Minimum Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Complete and Pass a thorough background investigation
- Pass a drug screening
- Work a variety of shifts, days, hours, weekends and holidays
- Complete the minimum set standard of on the job training
- Complete and Pass a typing/aptitude test
Essential Functions
- Answer incoming 9-1-1 and administrative calls quickly and professionally
- Ability to process and determine appropriate response for emergency and non-emergency calls
- Ability to multi-task in a high stress, high call volume
- Understanding of computer aided dispatch (CAD) systems, various mapping programs, state and federal computer systems and radio equipment
- Handle high stress situations in a calm, professional manner
- Occasionally deal with hysterical and uncooperative callers
