Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized Warehouse/Yard Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, optimizing processes, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods within the warehouse. This role requires strong leadership skills (candidate must be a "self-starter") and understanding of warehouse operations. Experience is preferred but not required. A fair amount of physical labor is required. Materials handled daily include brick, stone, mortar, sand, and various metal products including angle iron and wire mesh.
Pay is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
- Pull, prepare, and load orders for delivery and/or customer pickup.
- Optimize delivery routes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
Skills
- Ability to manage freight operations effectively while ensuring timely shipping & receiving processes.
- Must be able to operate equipment such as a forklift, tractor, skid steer, etc. or be willing and able to learn to do so.
- Must be able to stand, squat, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pound bags of mortar repeatedly.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with various departments, external partners, contractors, and customers.
- Computer skills are a plus.
- Utilize ERP systems for tracking inventory levels (training provided).
