What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager position at Stone Cloud Design + Build?
Operations Manager – Stone Cloud Design Build
About Stone Cloud
Stone Cloud Design Build is a boutique, high-end residential firm specializing in architecturally significant custom homes in Denver’s most sought-after neighborhoods.
We operate a fully integrated model—real estate, design, and construction—delivering a design-first product with a strong emphasis on execution, detail, and client experience.
The Role
We are seeking a highly capable Operations Manager to own the day-to-day operational systems of the company.
This is a high-responsibility role, not an executive position. You will be the person who ensures everything runs smoothly behind the scenes—contracts, financial workflows, documentation, and internal systems.
You will work closely with ownership and the project team, and are expected to operate with a high level of independence, organization, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Administration
- Own contracts, change orders, and document workflows (DocuSign, Box)
- Manage subcontractor compliance, insurance tracking, and project documentation
- Maintain organization and consistency across all company systems
Financial Coordination
- Oversee billing, invoicing, and A/R A/P in QuickBooks
- Track project-level financials with the Project Manager
- Coordinate with CPA/controller on reporting and job costing
Project Support
- Work closely with Project Manager and Construction Manager on change orders and documentation
- Ensure all project paperwork is accurate, complete, and timely
- Support client-facing documentation and communication
Process & Systems
- Maintain and improve internal systems (Smartsheet or similar)
- Identify inefficiencies and implement better workflows
- Help standardize processes across projects
What We’re Looking For
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Strong sense of ownership and follow-through
- Comfortable managing multiple moving parts at once
- Experience in construction, real estate, or a project-based business preferred
- Able to work independently and keep things on track without constant oversight
- Must be comfortable owning details end-to-end without follow-up — this role requires someone who naturally closes loops
- If you prefer highly structured environments with constant direction, this is not the right role
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar account software preferred
Role Structure
This is intended to be a full-time, in-office role, working closely with the team.
Some flexibility is available once systems and workflows are fully understood.
Compensation
$85,000 – $105,000 base salary, depending on experience and capability
Performance-based bonus tied to company and role success
