Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients in accordance with safety standards.
- Operate dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas including counters, floors, sinks, and storage spaces to uphold sanitation standards.
- Support meal preparation activities by organizing ingredients and assisting culinary staff with basic cooking tasks.
- Follow food handling protocols to ensure safety and prevent cross-contamination during all stages of food service.
- Dispose of waste properly and manage recycling processes to promote an environmentally friendly workspace.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations related to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Basic knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Experience with menu planning or meal preparation is a plus.
- Familiarity with food service environments such as restaurants or catering settings is advantageous.
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques are desirable.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks efficiently.
