Cake decorator

Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and decorating, with experience in food production and preparation. This role involves creating visually appealing cakes and pastries that meet our high standards of quality and presentation. The Cake Decorator will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure that all products are made to specification and delivered on time.

Responsibilities

• Design and decorate cakes according to customer specifications and company standards.
• Prepare various types of frosting, fillings, and cake batters.
• Ensure all cakes are packaged properly for delivery or display.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to fulfill catering orders and special requests.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with cake selections and custom orders.
• Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and report any shortages to management.
• Follow all food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in cake decorating, with a strong portfolio showcasing skills in design and technique.
• Background in food production or culinary arts is preferred, with knowledge of baking principles.
• Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations within the food industry.
• Strong knife skills and attention to detail in both decoration and presentation.
• Excellent customer service skills, able to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
• Previous experience in catering or restaurant environments is a plus.
