Are you someone who enjoys working with people, learning how a business operates, and taking on more responsibility over time? Our Manager-in-Training opportunity may be a great fit.

We are looking for individuals who want to grow with us and develop into future leaders within our market operations. As a Manager-in-Training, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside our teams and managers while learning the day-to-day operations of our market stands.

This is not a position where you will spend your time sitting in a classroom. You will learn by doing - working with customers, learning our products, understanding how each department operates, and gradually taking on more leadership responsibility as you develop.

Over approximately 1-3 years, you will have the opportunity to rotate through different market stands and areas of the business. The goal is to prepare you for future opportunities as a Market Stand Manager or Market Manager as positions become available.

What You'll Learn and Do

As part of the program, you will:

• Work in multiple market stands and departments to gain a well-rounded understanding of our operations.


• Learn our products so you can confidently answer questions and make recommendations to customers.


• Provide friendly, welcoming customer service and help create the experience our customers have come to expect.


• Learn daily operations including product preparation, stocking, merchandising, sanitation, cash handling, and inventory.


• Work alongside managers to learn how to coordinate a team, delegate tasks, and keep daily operations running smoothly.


• Learn ordering, inventory control, product displays, and ways to reduce waste and shrink.


• Assist with opening and closing responsibilities.


• Help train and support team members as your experience grows.


• Gain experience solving day-to-day operational and customer service challenges.


• Learn and maintain our food safety, cleanliness, and quality standards.


• Take on increasing levels of responsibility as you demonstrate readiness and leadership ability.

Who We're Looking For

You do not need to already be a manager to be successful in this role. We are looking for someone who is motivated to learn, dependable, and interested in building a long-term career.

A strong candidate will:

• Enjoy working with customers and being part of a team.


• Be comfortable learning new responsibilities and working in different areas of the business.


• Be dependable, hardworking, and willing to take initiative.


• Communicate well and build positive relationships with coworkers and customers.


• Be able to work independently when needed while also contributing to the team.


• Bring a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Previous retail, food service, or customer-facing experience is helpful, but it is not required. We are happy to train the right person.

What This Opportunity Can Lead To

Our goal is to develop Manager-in-Training team members into future leaders at Stoltzfus Meats. As you gain experience and successfully progress through the program, you may be considered for Market Stand Manager or Market Manager opportunities as they become available.

Physical Requirements

This position includes the physical responsibilities that come with working in an active food retail environment, including:

• Standing and walking for extended periods.


• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.


• Working in refrigerated or cooler environments.


• Handling fresh food products.


• Performing tasks such as stocking, slicing, packaging, merchandising, and cleaning.
