JOB SUMMARY (the purpose and general nature of the job):
Perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following:
Process supplier invoices and credits, match purchase orders and receipts to invoices.
- Code expense invoices, obtain and verify invoice approvals, enter supplier down payment invoices.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Review and reconcile supplier statements.
- Correspond with suppliers and respond to inquiries.
- Assists with accruals
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required as well as a bachelor’s degree is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years accounts payable experience.
Skills:
- Proficient in data entry.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Communication skills to interact professionally and effectively with management, suppliers and co-workers.
- Intermediate skill level in Excel.
- General knowledge of accounting procedures.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
Work schedule generally consists of 40 hours per week, which may include on-call status, evenings, and/or weekends.
