Position Summary
The Planning Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the daily flow of product through tree nut handling facility. This position ensures efficient scheduling of grower deliveries, processing, inventory movements, and outbound shipments while maintaining product traceability, quality standards, and operational efficiency.
The Planning Coordinator works closely with Operations, Receiving, Quality Assurance, Field Buyers, Sales, Logistics, Maintenance, and Grower Relations to maximize throughput while minimizing delays, inventory aging, and operational bottlenecks.
Essential Responsibilities
- Production Planning
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and seasonal production schedules.
- Coordinate incoming grower deliveries with facility capacity.
- Schedule cleaning, sizing, storage, and packaging activities.
- Balance production priorities based on customer demand, inventory levels, and operational constraints.
- Adjust production schedules as crop conditions, weather, equipment availability, or customer requirements change.
- Inventory Planning and physical inventory management.
- Monitor raw, in-process, and finished goods inventories.
- Coordinate product movements between receiving, warehouses, and processing areas.
- Minimize inventory aging while maintaining adequate supply.
- Assist in planning inventory allocations for customer orders.
- Track inventory accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
- Grower Delivery Coordination
- Coordinate delivery appointments with growers and field representatives.
- Communicate changes in delivery schedules promptly.
- Monitor receiving volumes versus production capacity.
Operations Coordination
- Work closely with Operations Supervisors to prioritize production.
- Coordinate with Operations regarding planned downtime.
- Ensure smooth communication between shifts.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation schedules.
- Support shipment planning with Logistics and Customer Service.
- Monitor warehouse capacity and storage utilization.
- Coordinate transfer of product between facilities when required.
- Maintain production schedules within the ERP system.
- Generate production and inventory reports.
- Monitor work orders and production status.
- Verify production data accuracy.
- Analyze production performance metrics.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma and experience in Nut production facilities.
- Strong scheduling and planning abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Technical Skills: Microsoft Excel (advanced preferred). Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in both office and production environments. Occasional walking throughout processing facilities. Ability to climb stairs and access production areas. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to work extended hours during harvest season.
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
