Your Responsibilities
- Responsible for promoting an efficient work environment with a key focus on the employee’s own safety and the safety of others.
- Perform a wide variety of repairs, modifications or installations to equipment to maintain a reliable operating facility.
- Perform correct procedures for ‘lock out’, ‘closed system entry’, ‘confined space entry’, and ‘hot work’ as specified in plant procedures.
- Makes a visual and auditory inspection of plant mechanical operating equipment and corrects problems found during daily inspections.
- Performs repairs or modifications specified on work orders as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Shift Supervisor.
- Install or modify new equipment as assigned.
- Keep appropriate personnel notified of changes in plant equipment or modifications to the original design.
- Fabricate or repair spare parts as needed.
- Participate in overtime activities as required including down-day activities, vacation or illness coverage, or assist with additional workloads as required.
- Troubleshoot equipment and correct any failed components as well as any components that may have contributed to the original failure.
- Compliance with applicable regulations and occupational safety requirements
- High School degree is required with technical training equivalent to 1-3 years of applied trades training.
- A minimum of 1-3 years’ hands-on’ maintenance experience in handling equipment repair or fabrication
- Be capable of scoring the required points on skill proficiency tests within 120 days of employment.
- Meticulous work ethic with a high degree of self-motivation
- Extensive knowledge of general maintenance and fabrication detail.
- Knowledge of machine design and be capable of assisting in troubleshooting plant equipment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
